Doc Zombie's

The History of Doc Zombie's

Doc Zombie's has been around for ages. Believe it or not, at one time this forlorn swamp shack was one of the "IT" places to see or be seen in Ascension City, but despite what the city officials like to say; the times they are a changing. After the mysterious death of the former owner the shack sat all but abandoned for fear that the place was cursed.  Many tried to reopen the shack but failed.  A Witchdoctor in the guise of a clown's makeup "lifted" the curse, took over, and Doc Zombie's was open once again, but soon enough the 'curse' seemed to have its way and once more the bayou bar was left sitting alone, until a mambo(female vodou priest) saw its state and went to set things right.

Currently...

The sounds and smells wafting up to the city lures the residents of Ascension out to the deepest, darkest corner of the swamp just for a taste of what they've got cooking, or to purchase some Voodoo or Hoodoo potions, dolls, totems, medallions, or gris-gris. To some it is a mere Voodoo themed restaurant with a Cajun Menu, but to the more knowledgeable, Doc Zombies is much more.

An extension of the Undercity in many ways, Doc Zombie's follows the rules of the Undercity.  Natural forms are encouraged in the swamp shack.  It also prides itself as acting as a neutral point and safehouse to anyone seeking shelter, be it from the law, a specific group, or the elements.  It's very common to see undead at Doc Zombie's, not only because it's in the name, but because the owner sees it as a sanctuary for any reborn, undead, ghost, ghoul, zombie, or Lich, or any other manner of being in existance.  Vampires are welcome, but are viewed as "beautiful undead" and not in dire need of help like most other undead.  Lycans and demons as well are welcome, as are humans and mutants too.

The owner often offers Divine Magic Lessons for those who are faithful enough in their gods to harness the magic of belief.  She doesn't discriminate by religion though, long as they don't hold her voodoo practices against her.

Doc Zombie's is often viewed by the human residents and law enforcement of the town as a hive of villainy.  It's no secret that because of it's "safehouse" policy it attracts the city's criminal element.  Some would argue that the owner of Doc's is an underworld figure too.  That's only a rumor though... right?  That said, it's not hard to get one's hands on items of questionable legality.

While all are welcome, some actively avoid Doc Zombie's.
